Plain words, because you should be able to read this in one sitting. Using Sermons.Dev means agreeing to what is below. If something here is not what you expected, do not sign up — write to us instead.

What this is

Sermons.Dev is a workspace for preparing, preaching, printing and keeping sermons. It is run by the people who make it, on Cloudflare’s network.

It is a working product and it is still being built. Some things described on the home page as not yet built are genuinely not yet built, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Your account

You need an email address and a password. Keep the password to yourself; anyone holding it can read every sermon in your account. If you think someone else has it, change it immediately from your account settings.

One account is one person. You are responsible for what happens under yours.

Your sermons are yours

We claim no ownership of anything you write. You keep every right you had in it before you typed it here.

We take no licence to publish, republish, quote, syndicate, sell or train anything on your sermons. The only permission you give us is the narrow one any service needs to work: to store your words, move them between our servers and your screen, and show them back to you.

That is a deliberately short list, and it is the whole list.

What the AI does, and does not

AI assists; the pastor authors. It will find a passage, tidy a paste, or turn a voice note into text you can edit. It does not write sermons, does not suggest points, and does not alter a sentence you have not asked it to touch.

Voice notes you choose to transcribe are sent to Cloudflare’s Workers AI to be turned into text and the text is returned to you. Nothing you write is used to train a model — not by us, and not with our permission by anyone else.

Scripture text

Scripture passages looked up in the product come from the ESV API, provided by Crossway, and are used under their terms. The attribution shown with a passage is part of those terms and should not be removed from anything you publish or print.

Fair use of the service

Do not use Sermons.Dev to break the law, to store other people’s material you have no right to, or to attack the service or the people on it. Do not attempt to reach another account’s sermons.

If an account is doing one of those things we may suspend it. If we do, we will tell you why.

What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it up and to keep your sermons safe, and we do not promise that it will never be unavailable, never lose anything, or never have a fault.

Keep your own copy of anything you could not bear to lose. That is good advice for any service, including this one.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using the service.

Ending it

You may stop using Sermons.Dev whenever you like. Deleting a sermon deletes it, its versions, and any audio or images attached to it. To have your whole account and everything in it removed, write to us and we will do it.

We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and we will say what the breach was.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we will say so in the product before the change takes effect. Small corrections — a clearer sentence, a fixed typo — will not be announced.

Getting in touch

Write to us through the address on your account, or reply to any email the product has sent you. A person reads it.
